Absolutely Mediate is a private mediation practice owned by Jennifer Orenic, the principal mediator. Ms. Orenic is certified by the Supreme Court of Virginia to provide mediation services to three levels of the Virginia Judicial System. Since 1996, she has provided these services through a contract with the Virginia Supreme Court, mediating cases for Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court, Circuit Court Family, and General District Court. Ms. Orenic is also a Certified Federal Mediator and has served as an Equal Opportunity (EO) Counselor for 10 years with the National Park Service where she has mediated workplace disputes involving discrimination complaints for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s ADR program.
A Certified Mentor and trainer for mediators-in-training, Ms. Orenic has 12 years of experience in the field of Domestic Violence. She offers a training course on the importance of screening family cases for domestic violence prior to mediation with a new screening tool called DOVE.
Ms. Orenic received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Averett University. Her mediation training began at the Community Mediation Center in Harrisonburg, Virginia (the oldest community mediation center in the state) and continues each year. Her professional associations include the Virginia Mediation Network (VMN) and the National Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR).
Ms. Orenic has mediated hundreds of cases involving issues in workplace disputes, divorce issues of custody, co-parenting schedules, child support and marital property division, EO complaints, landlord/tenant disputes, business/consumer complaints, and neighborhood disputes. She also facilitates panel discussions for public dialogue and Restorative Justice Conferences with juvenile offenders.
